Interaction with the businesses, attracting international students, ratio of students and teachers are some of the key factors in promoting the Ural Federal University, along with increased scientific publishing and cooperation with leading world universities. This is why, according to the THE experts, the Ural Federal University has retained its position in the group of 251–300 universities in countries with dynamically developing economies.

“The university has once again confirmed the high international reputation of one of the world centers for quality education, showing growth in terms of research, international activities and the recruitment of foreign students, as well as, importantly, relations with enterprises in the real sector of the economy,” said Ural Federal University rector Victor Koksharov.

The head of the university adds that active participation in competitions for grants and in federal target programs, coupled with systemic interaction with enterprises, is of considerable importance.

“At the same time, the number of our academic partners around the world is steadily growing: we increase the number of joint publications with foreign researchers by 20-30% annually," adds Koksharov.

The rankings published bt the THE evaluate the universities located in countries designated by the Financial Times as developing (or “border”) economies.

The rating takes into account the strengths of each university in all key indicators - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international perspectives.
