Minister of Science and Higher Education presented the award as the best rector in Ural Federal Region

Rector of the Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov has been recognized as the winner of the national award "Rector of the Year - 2020" in the Ural Federal District.

The awarding ceremony took place on November 19 at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the prizes were presented to the winners by Minister Valery Falkov.

“We assessed the rector's contribution in a comprehensive manner based on a set of indicators. And it was not specific universities that were assessed, but the personalities of their leaders. I am sure that the assessment of the professorial community is often no less important than the assessment of departments. Victor Koksharov is successfully leading UrFU to new heights, implementing large-scale ambitious projects and preserving the best traditions of higher education in the Ural region," said Vladislav Grib, chairman of the Russian professors' meeting.

The expert jury evaluated the rector's contribution to the development of the university, his reputation, personal achievements, interaction with the state, business, scientific and expert community. Other criteria include international cooperation, digitalization and innovation at the university, media activity.

The awards "Rector of the Year", "Professor of the Year", "Dean of the Year" were presented within the framework of the Professors Forum, which ends in Moscow on November 19. The purpose of the forum is to determine the role of the scientific and educational elite of Russia in the effective implementation of national projects, including through interaction and partnership of the legislative and executive authorities with the scientific and academic community
