Ural Federal University awarded the President of Kazakhstan with a diploma and mantle of Honorary Doctor

The ceremony will take place in Sochi at the forum of interregional cooperation of the two countries

Today, during the XII Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan, held with the participation of the two presidents in Sochi, the rector of Ural Federal University will award a diploma and mantle of the honorary doctor of UrFU to Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The President of Kazakhstan received such a high degree for his contribution to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Russian Federation and Republic of Kazakhstan, and, as it is written in a diploma, "for further deepening of historical cultural, spiritual and economic relations and the development of strategic projects."

The meeting of Victor Koksharov and Nursultan Nazarbayev became possible thanks to the efforts of the Kazakhstan Branch of Alumni, headed by President of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Natural Sciences, a graduate of the UPI (now UrFU), Nurtai Abykayev.

The decision to award the President of Kazakhstan with an honorary doctorate was made by the UrFU Academic council on the proposal of the Academic Council of the Institute of Social and Political Sciences.
