The names of the Award winners were announced in Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center

The 2019 UrFU Student of the Year Awards came to an end on the evening of December 17 with a ceremony in the atrium of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center. The university management and representatives of partner companies announced the names of the winners in 10 nominations. A student of the Institute of Radio Electronics and Information Technology Natalia Lozinskaya took home the Grand Prix.

“I feel super happy to stand on this stage and receive the award for those three months of hard work. I am grateful to my parents and relatives, the team of the whole institute. They became my support and my main strength,” Natalia Lozinskaya said while receiving the Grand Prix on stage.

Natalia will go for an internship to the Czech Republic at one of the enterprises of the ChTPZ Group. The Grand Prix winner was selected by an expert jury based on the results of the final speech on the topic of 'My Starring Role'. The project of Natalia is a system for popularizing scientific activities at UrFU in the format of a mobile directory with a chatbot.

The Awards finalists were evaluated in areas of self-government, science, volunteering and creativity, making it only ten categories. Each of the 30 finalists developed and presented a project before the leading managers of the university. Many of the projects will be fulfilled already as early as 2020.

“The university is made of people who, through their work, are pushing it every day to make the university better and better. We are proud of our students and are convinced that it is their contribution that lays the foundation of the university of today - a university rapidly developing and providing opportunities for everyone,” said the Rector of Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov.

 Applications for participation in the UrFU Student of the Year Awards in 2019 were submitted by 340 students. The award ceremony brought together more than 600 students, their friends and family, teachers and university staff leaders. The project was supported by UrFu's partners - SKB-Bank, ChTPZ Group, Coca-Cola HBC Russia, Sberbank, PwC.

The annual UrFU Student of the Year Awards was held for the fourth time. The project is designed to boost student's positive activity and to find out who is ready to hold the worthy title of 'Student of the Year. The award gives everyone the opportunity to learn new competencies, get acquainted with the leadership role, get unique experience for developing in the university and building future careers.
