Today Victor Koksharov, UrFU Rector, celebrates his 50th Birthday. An authoritative leader, one of the youngest rectors in the country, a connoisseur of history, an outstanding speaker, a loving husband and father - today his colleagues and partners tell about business and personal qualities of the Rector.

The hero of the day celebrates this wonderful anniversary with relatives and friends. In the meantime university receives numerous congratulations. Colleagues, partners, students and academic staff of Ural Federal University congratulate Rector on his birthday. "Rich life experience, extensive knowledge of special features of  the local and industry, creative and business activity allow Victor Koksharov to successfully promote Ural Federal University, which he has headed since the establishment, in global higher education community," - said the Chairman of UrFU Supervisory Board, a graduate of UPI, Dmitry Pumpyansky. 

"Excellent educational background, brilliant erudition, proficiency in English and German, analytical skills and professional approach allowed Victor Koksharov to represent our region and the country in all high places with dignity. Victor A. is interested in literature, art, music, sports. He is a frequent guest of the Philharmonic Society, Theatre of Musical Comedy, Opera and Ballet Theatre. He travels around Russia and the countries of the world” – shared his opinion the First Vice-Rector of Ural Federal University, Professor Anatoly Matern.

Victor Koksharov was born on August 1, 1964 in Kamensk-Uralsk, Sverdlovsk Region. He graduated from the History Department of Ural State University in 1986, six years later became a PhD in history.

He held senior positions in the administration of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region. In May 2004 he was appointed Minister of International and External Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk region. In 2007-2009, he was the chairman of the regional government.
